How many of you have used Georgia Arms ammunition in your P99, and what were your opinions??

I want to buy 1000 rnds of the 165 FMJ .40 'canned heat' ammo, but I was noticing that their 'pistol ammo' is only 5 bucks more per thousand rounds.  The 'pistol' ammo includes a FPS rating of 1050.....any idea how fast the 'canned' ammo is?

I guess you get an ammo can with the 'canned' ammo, any idea how the 'pistol' ammo is packaged?

I use their 9mm +P 124gr Gold Dot ammo and find it excellent. Better than Speer in my opinion (less flash and smell) and less expensive. The "Shear Power Plus" ammo is all new manufacture and there's no doubts about whether it's been "reclassified" or not. I'd use their 9mm reloads too if it weren't for the Walmart value packs.

The canned ammo comes loose in a .30 cal ammo can. The regular pistol ammo comes loose in 50 round shrink wrapped packages. Both types are reloads for .40 S&W. I assume that the canned heat is the same velocity as the regular packaged equivalent but you could always give them a call to double check. I think that .40 load at 1050fps is a special 165gr IPSC load so they may not offer that in bulk.

Most of their ammo are reloads so expect to see different names on the brass. However, I've never heard of any complaints about GA and almost everyone on other boards talks very positively about them. These guys are always at the Georgia gun shows and I find them very friendly and willing to answer questions, I think that says a lot about how they operate.
