I just purchased a G22 and I would like to be able to attach a suppressor with 1/2X28 threads.

I have seen muzzle break kits for sale that have a threaded piece that slides on the end of the barrel. Does anyone know the thread type on these? Is there an adaptor available to convert to 1/2X28?

Is it possible to thread the barrel to 1/2X28. I have miked the barrel and it is just under .5 inches in diameter.

Has anyone threaded their barrel for a suppressor and, if so, how did you accomplish this?

Thanks for the reply Uncut. I won't order one of those muzzle break attachments then.

Do you know if the G22 can be directly threaded for 1/2X28 threads or will it need an adaptor like the P22?

I saw on the other thread that you were wondering about Utah laws on suppressors. I live in Provo and it was super easy to get one.

I just went into FBMG in Draper and picked out the model I wanted. I paid for it and they printed out the paperwork. Then you just have to go to the BCI building in Salt Lake to get the signature and prints. I was in and out of there in twenty minutes with my signature (not bad for a government office).

Then I mailed in the forms with a $200 check and a month later received my tax stamp.

Yes, it can be threaded in that exact pattern; however, the person who did my threading, John Noveske, had to remove the front sight post in order to do it properly. Not exactly sure why, but it wasn't a concern for me, since I am using a Zeiss Z-Point red-dot optic, but it may be an issue for you.

I have a picture of my G-22 with AAC Pilot, but it's on my home PC, and I'm at a carbine class in West Virginia at present and don't have access to it. It works rather well with the can, and my 9 year old daughter likes to shoot clay birds with it.

There is apparently a threaded barrel available for the G-22 in Europe, but I don't know of anyone who was able to import one to the US.

Regards,
Jeff

+1 on what Jeff said... there is a 20 inch and a 25 inch barrel that is already threaded available through Walther in Germany.... I had asked Earl once and he didn't sound too excited since the G22 and P22 is made by Umarex... but I think he might be the only one that could get one in... S&W for sure won't import it
BTW, I am by Layton .. but want to come down to SLC soon to go shooting at that new range that opened on Satestreet. I think it is "Get Some" that moved there.
I won't do any ClassIII stuff till my wife retiered from the Army and I don't have to worry about moving anymore
