Did some plinking today. The red nail polish I put on the front sight worked out perfectly. Much more visible than the white it replaced.
Front sight
Decided to change the white dot on the front sight for something that stands out better. Picked up some bright red nail polish at Walmarts. Using a toothpick, I applied it to the sight. Next time out out in the desert doing some plinking I'll get a better idea of its effectiveness.

I did exactly the same thing. It makes a difference. I don't need expensive sights for plinking anyway.
Some gun shops sell a variety of very bright paints made specifically for sights. 1917
Walmart had a good selection for $1.98.
