Just brought my P99 Ti today and found this forum. Does anyone know if the stainless steel cleaner FLITZ is safe to use on the Titanium slide?

Thanks

Honestly, I have no idea. You might want to contact Walther or even Smith and Wesson to be sure before you try it.

If it's an abrasive cleaner I wouldn't use it as it would take any coating of the steel. If it's chemical then it's probably fine. Titanium is not particularly sensitive. But it may discolor so try on a small area first :)

Thanks for the replys, guys. The main reason I brought the Ti version was that I prefer the two tone look and the added protection against sweat, which I tend to do here in FL
while carrying IWB.

After looking over the Titanium finish (and the BOLD lettering) I was becoming less impressed. So I've decide to have the barrel and slide hard chromed from APW Cogan over in Safety Harbor, FL. and just sent them out today. I have had two slides finished by them and have been very satisfied with their work and turnaround time.

I don't have a digital camera but will try to borrow one when I get the slide/barrel back so I can post the pics here.
