Finger extensions.

2759 Views 12 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Malysh
I have a Smith PPK/S in 9mm kurz that I'd like to get a couple of magazine finger extensions for.

I also want to get the same thing for my Manurhin PP in 7.65mm.
I bought some non finger rest mags and would like to get the bases.

Anybody know of a source??

Give Tom Heller a try. He supplies parts and magazines for semi-automatic pistols. Good luck.

Earl's Repair Service has both black and brown finger extensions for PPK magazines.
He also has brand new magazines in all 3 calibers. I think they are $25.00 new.

I've seen guys bid over $120.00 for used 22lr PPK magazines when Ebay allowed, that they could have bought new from Earls for $90 or $110 depending on whether they were flat bottom or finger extension.

I was hoping to not have to go with Earl.
He charges an arm and a leg, plus my firstborn!!!
I didn't see them listed on his site, I'll probably have to give him a call.
I also would go with Tom Heller for your Manhurin....
and Walther America for the S&W
Don't be surprised if a given magazine bottom will not fit certain Walther magazines. Magazines have been supplied to the licensees by several different OEMs over the years, and some bottoms are not interchangeable.

I had the opposite problem.....

I had finger rest extension mags :( for a German PPK/s .22 and an S&W .380. I called Mec-Gar and they sent me a blued steel floor plate for the German and a stainless for the S&W. They included the keepers (?) for both. I was prepared to pay but they they sent them gratis.:D

They might be able to supply the extensions for you since they are OEM for Walther.
Mecgar Phone Number?

You wouldn't happen to have the phone number for Mecgar would you?

I need to tell them about the finger extension that fell/broke off the newest
magazine I purchased from them. I hope they will stand by their products!

Tuesday was NOT a good day for me!

Try this link from the Contact area on their website:

Earl doesn't list finger extensions on the website. He charges $25.00 for a new one. For black ones this is a bit high, but try to find new factory brown Walther finger extensions anywhere.

I just bought an extra flat 9mmK mag for my pistol. It was $39.00 I don't consider that excessive for a factory magazine, but I sure wouldn't mind paying about $25.00 for them.
I just e-mailed Mec-Gar.
We shall see.
I solved the problem of the PPK/S bases!!

I completely forgot that I had a couple of Triple K mags that never worked!!
These had finger rest bases. ;)
It took me longer to dig through my dead parts box to find them than it did to change them out!! :D

Now I await word from Mec-Gar.
I also checked S&W today. They charge $30.00 for the same magazine Earl's charges $39.00 for. Neither business is cheap. These should be $20.00 items.
To me, no big deal. Earl got it to me 2 days after I ordered it.
