Yep... I did it.. Last night my new license came in and I went straight to the gun shop and picked up my brand new 03' P99 in .40!

Now, I am wondering about what cleaning needs to be done to this before I take it out the range. One of the mags feels a little sticky, but the rest of the gun feels and looks pretty clean as it is. How far of a cleaning should I get into as an initial cleaning?

Thanks
Adam (Happy proud new P99 owner)

Always clean and lube a new pistol. The packing oil/grease is merant to protect the pistol in transit, not lubricate it for shooting.

So would just a basic cleaning with something like Breakfree CLP suffice? Also when using breakfree do I need to use any additional lube after? Or just wipe off the excess?

Thanks again

Just a basic cleaning. CLP is a fine lube. wipe off excess and your good to go.
