Well, we all know the A/S is back out - but I finally got around to ordering the Walther USA 2006 Catalog after months of breezing thru the 2005 version. They show both the QA and AQ, and even a compact DAO version that looks a bit unusual in the pic - although, it may have just been the lighting used when they photographed that particular gun for the ad....

I have the same catalog and noticed something odd - they listed the P99 QA .40 as 12+1, but listed the AS .40 as 11+1

I think Walther did the same thing with the .40 magazines as they did with the 9s, they downloaded the max capacity by 1.

My magazines are hard to insert when they're loaded with 12, but its doable. I suspect this is only the case because they've worn in a bit.
