Is it okay to polish the feed ramp of the P99? I may further improve feeding reliability.
However, polishing might scrape off the black (tenifer?) finish of the barrel's feed ramp?
Any opinion on this?

Are you saying that your P99 is not feeding reliably? Please provide the specifics.

If it is and you just want to tinker, I say don't do it -- I'm a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Couldnt agree more, my P99 is 100% so far (only 500 rounds so far) and I have tried to make it fail. I have used 115 gr. shot it upside down, 90 deg. right and left....limp wristed it..everything...it has never failed me. I wouldnt touch it!!

Oscar,

In my case , I started out with the black coated (tennifer finish) ramp. It works just fine but I can't help polishing it ( guess my 1911's feed ramp somewhat affected me). Now it's working even more better in terms of its smoooth loading action. Also I had my magazines's front edge lip filed a little bit (in an arc profile). Now I think my wonderful P99 just got more better.
Have a nice shooting day !!!
