Extractor Plunger ..... what it looks like

I've been learning about Safety and Extractor and Spring and Plungers.

I found something at Numrich that I don't understand. The picture they show for the Extractor Plunger looks just like the Safety Catch Plunger.

So I did some Google'ing for pictures of the Extractor Plunger and found 2 pictures which show a definite "flat spot" which interfaces with the Extractor.

My Question: do Extractor Plungers have different designs ?? That is, some with a "flat spot" and some with a Round End per Numrich ??

Numrich has the wrong illustration. That's the safety detent end. The other two are correct.

Curious !! My 76 Danish PP & both of my S&W's (PPK & PPKS) all have the notched plunger for the extractor. The other one looks like the safety plunger to me. But I am not the expert so I'll be interested in what they have to say.
