Does anyone know if this is a ex k98 sniper by any chance? For some reason the sn looks to me like it is? I never see any Mauser p38’s or Lugers with any more then 4 digits on the sn? I know this is a walther forum but this is ww2 German. If it’s not okay to post on here pm me and I will take it down. Thank you very much!

Is the rifle's forward receiver drilled on the side for scope mounts?
Whatever it once was doesn't matter now. It is what it is today.

According to my references Mauser K98k rifles with a byf 44 receiver mark were produced at least as high as S/N 34233o.

Is this rifle in your possession or is it at a gun store ? More pics would help.
The gun is at a gun store a few miles from my home. It seems as it was drilled and tapped at one time also as well before the scope was added. Will take more pictures soon. Thank you!
