Walther didn't come up with the accessory rail - that idea belongs to H&K. Their USP was the first and was released in 1994 or 1993. The P99 was released in 1996. GLOCK added one in 1998 to their new models while SIG (the Pro series) and the S&W Sigma added railed in 1999. But Walther did come up with the idea for interchaneable backstraps, an idea that has been copied by many otehr companies including SIG, H&K, S&W,Beretta and others.[b said:Quote[/b] (Jake Starr @ Sep. 03 2006,2:04)]So what were some of the first pistols to have equipment rails? I know that Glock and Sig did not have them for some time. The P99 was among the first. Did H&K have them first with their USP? What other innovations did Walther come up with first?
