Picked up a Girsan Witness 2311 Brat last week for $679 out the door. I had looked long & hard wanting a Staccato P, but its price was too high for my retired income. I looked at similar double stack 9MM 2011 options which included others as well. Reading reviews on many to include the Prodigy's, MAC DS 9's, & others I decided on the Girsan Witness 2311 Brat. After shooting it this AM, I can tell you I made the right choice. It bull barrel shot great, flat, & very little to no recoil impulse. Even with my aging eyesight, & Parkinson's I was placing 1 inch shot groups @ 21' sitting using a bag, both with 115, & 124 grain bullets. Once I stood up my groups became a little bigger but not that much more. Once I got home, I ordered an Osight SE RDS which has MRS, an enclosed emitter, & has a RMSc footprint being able to mount directly to the Brat without an optic plate. Its 3 dot white sights work well enough, but I believe the RDS will help me considerably. Will post pics once the optic is mounted & a final range report thereafter.

After doing some research I found out through EAA Grisan customer service the Optic mounting screws for my Witness 2311 Brat are M4X.7 thread, which were not included in the Osight SE's screw assortment. They were unsure of the length needed to mount my intended optic as well. Searching the internet all I could find them in #8 or #10 lengths. I found an online forum which stated a #12 length would be ideal for mounting on a Staccato. pistol which was the closet model to my Girsan 2311 Witness Brat. I stopped by my local ACE hardware who had both the #10, & #12 lengths but with an Allen heads vs torx heads. I will have to also find a metric Allen bit so I can torque the mounting screws to spec 14-15 LBS or see if one of my torx bits will work. Just thought I would share in case others here come up with the same issues trying to mount optics on a Grisan Witness 2311.

The M4X.7 mounting screws were included with the Osight SE. It had both the 8-, & 10-mm lengths. Ended up using the 10mm for mounting. The Osight SE does hang over a bit on the Girsan witness 2311 Brat's slide but doesn't interfere with its operation. A smaller RDS like the Holosun HS 407/507K might have been a better fit ratio on the slide, but wanting a larger sight window, & an enclosed emitter meant living with the overhang issue. According to "Freedom Gorilla" the newer Osight RDS have omitted the M4 mounting screws. So, getting an old set worked in my situation.
