I work at a Sheriff's Department and recently picked up a PPQ M2 .40 for my new duty carry. I LOVE the gun, it's a smooth shoot and several of the guys are even jealous. However, I knew it would be an issue finding a holster for it and so I'm asking you all for input. I'm so far leaning towards the Blade Tech WRS Level II duty holster (I don't carry a weapon mounted light). No one at the department carries with a Blade Tech and so none of them had much input on it. I know that Blackhawk makes the Serpa for the P99 but I think I'm a bigger fan of the level II retention. As for the magazine holder, I have given up on finding any specifically made for the PPQ but I am curious if any of you have found mag holders that PPQ mags will fit in? I don't carry the extended magazines but I'm looking for a double pouch with snaps over the top. I'm so far leaning towards the Safariland 72 with the integrated cuff pouch (saves room on my duty belt). Anyway, any input on either of these (or some "will fit" options) would be much appreciated. You've taken a look through the two Sticky threads in the FAQ section regarding holsters for the PPQ, right? You'll find plenty of recommendations with plenty of pictures and plenty of links.

IMHO No one makes a better group of holsters and Ammo. Carrying items then Comp-Tac. Comp-Tac : Top-Quality Firearm Accessories

Safariland holsters for the SW99 and Walther P99 also fit the PPQ. I have 2 of them and they work great. I'm not a cop but I'm given to understand Safariland holsters are great for duty carry and I know a lot of cops like them.

I bought my IWB holster from Garret Industries. It is kydex with a leather lining, molded to the shape of the gun. The leather lining is really nice, quiet and doesn't mar the finish as quickly as kydex.
They also make OWB that would work for duty.

I bought Blackhawk mag carriers on Amazon. Good tension and fit perfect.

Safariland is a no go on the holsters, at least as far as the 6360 goes. They make it for the P99Q and that works with the M1 paddle version, but not with the M2. I was going back and forth with Safariland about a revision for their holsters so they would fit the M1 and M2 versions. They kept dragging their feet, so I picked up a used M1 and started carrying it in a 6360. You might give them a call and see if they ever worked out a revision for the M2, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Now the 6280 may work with both M1 and M2 variants, but I don't know as I didn't test one of those.

Any mag pouch made for the M&P or XD will work fine. The Glock ones are a little over sized to accommodate their magazines, and so the PPQ mags are a bit loose.

I have never, nor will I ever carry anything but Safariland for duty, so I can't comment on the other brands. Off duty I am strickly Comp-Tac.

I just checked my 6378 and it would also be a no-go with an M2. This didn't occur to me when I posted above because I only have an M1. This would also rule out my 6377 as the 6377 and 6378 are the same holsters with different belt attachments.

What's the issue with your 6378?
For safety/sanity's sake, I dremeled a tiny amount off a 6378 to ensure no way to see the mag release pressed, but it works fine...I use it in competition.

I have a 6378 as well, and also did a small amount of dremeling to get some clearance for the mag release...all I did was thin some of the material, not remove it. Mine works great, and well worth the 2 minutes with a dremel tool.

I wanted to add a few pics, and unfortunately a terrible iphone video of me drawing and redrawing my PPQ from the holster. It did take a few dozen draws to break it in, but now it goes in and out smoothly. Sorry my best camera is an iphone...so sad I know.
