I call Smith & Wesson main sports center in Massachusetts today because I wanted to order a P99c AS, they carry all of S&W line and S&W Walther. I first spoke to a sales person who had no idea about the p99, he then connected me to his assist manger, who I told I wanted the P99c AS specifically he said he didn’t know that much about the model or if he could order it for me. The assistant manger then told me he would call the factory direct and ask them. The assistant manger called me back 4 hours later saying that they will have discontinued the P99 line and told me to look for them in a used gun shop. So I am a little pissed now that I can’t buy it direct from S&W ($530 not including 10% law enforcement discount), the dealer prices sell for about $580. Does anyone know why S&W would be discontinuing P99 AS? And is $580 a good price for the p99C AS 9mm?

I saw one here in Vegas for about $650. That is entirely too high considering I paid $515, after tax and out the door about a year ago. They also had a QA if you were interested. I would look arround and hope someone on gunbroker will give you an offer. You can contact them by email, and and do a side deal circumventing gunbroker, and may be able to save a little cash there.
Just my 2 cents

Well I went to a shop around me and put money down on one for $550. Ill be picking it up on Saturday when Massachusetts has a tax free holiday. The owner said it was a german model not the S&W one. It had the extended mag release and was an AG model, but said S&W on the side. What is the difference between the german aand S&W model? and do the german models have S&W on the side?

Yes, the German models are imported by S&W - US law says that when a gun is made outside of the US, the importer must be listed.

The S&W version is the SW99 - it is a clone of the P99. S&W makes the upper part, and Walther makes the frame for S&W.

Here is a pic of the differences - the S&W99 is on the left...
