date of manufacture

my p5 has a serial number of 047312 how can i find out when made. gun has never been fired still in box what would it sell for

There are 2 letters on the right side of the frame, this defines the manufacture date.

Ok, that's the SLIDE rollmark, now, move down to the frame from those markings, and look forward of trigger guard. There are 2 letters stamped into the aluminium.
For the OP, true New Old Stock P5s would sell for something in the range of $1200-$1500, outliers notwithstanding (e.g., one on GB for $1750 early this fall). You can almost double that price range for a NOS P5 Compact.

I bought a NOS P5 in spring of 2013 for slightly less than $1000, but they are getting harder to find in that condition, obviously.
