Hello everyone. Thanks for admitting me into such a wonderful forum.

Yesterday at a local gun show I viewed a war era PP chambered in 7,65. This particular pistol had the dark brown grips but a black finger extension magazine. The magazine was marked with the Walther banner and PP 7,65 m/m so I believe it to also be a war era magazine.

Was it common to have brown grips/black magazine? Was there even a brown magazine extension produced during the war.

Inquiring minds would like to know. Thanks.

These are considered red grips. In early production these grips were assembled on PPs that were used as SA (Brownshirt) shooting prize guns. Later on in the war these grips show up randomly on any variation PP. a friend of mine has these grips on a “in the white” PP that was post war assembled. I’ve never seen a finger extension that matched these grips. I’d put a flat bottom in it just because it looks better. ( too me). Just my two cents...
