I know I've read somewhere on this forum about removing copper marks near the ejection port but I couldn't find it. Have others experienced this and how have you removed it? Thanks, greg

Take a bit of Hoppes #9, Shooter's Choice, or a similar bore cleaning solvent designed to remove copper and wipe it on the area. Give it a bit of time and wipe it off. Since the slide deposits are brass, it will take a bit longer, but it will come off. I'd start with a couple of minutes and go from there.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I hadn't had a cup of coffee and mixed up my elements (copper and brass).

I actually think the little brass markings look cool so I intend to leave them.
I agree. It's not that it looks cool, but it looks used. It's the same way as how I don't clean the markings off the shell deflector on my AR.

"Brass kisses" is the common term for this.
