Here's my thought... sell your 990. Even if you can get the parts, you could be easily looking at $80-150 for the trigger assembly, the firing assembly, etc etc.
If you sold your 990 for some basement price like $350-400, and added $100 of your own - well, now you're about equal on funds (that you would have spent out of pocket on a modification) and can just purchase a QA or AS.
I know you mentioned that it wasn't the solution you want, but financially it's about the same thing.
