I have just bought 2 new guns. I had owned a p99 titanium but was never quite happy with the look. I think the silver slide would look better on the OD frame.
I have now replaced it with an all black p99 in 40sw. This is a stunning and fabulous shooting gun. It willbe my ccw duing the coler months. Due to it's size thoughit is a little large for ccw in shorts and te shirts.
I had been waiting for some time ofr the compact model but will not buy the sw99 compact.
Instead I purchased a Steyr s40. It is aslos a wondeful gun but is completely different from the p99 in many ways.
Any other thoughts on compacts including the Steyr?

Knowing how long it takes for H&K to bring something to market, I would bet money that the P99 Compact will be available before the P2000 Compact.

If you want a GREAT small 9mm, get a Kahr PM9. They are excellent, small and accurate, perfect for Texas summers

I have a Kahr Mk9, the trigger is very similar feeling to the P99QA trigger.
The little Kahrs are great.

In the summers here in Texas I find it hard to conceal my p99 .40 also. So I recently purchased the new Springfield XD-9 subcompact. Very impressive little gun. Lightweight, accurate, and very concealable. I recommend it as a nice little combat 9.

The Kahr PM40 has just started shipping
although I understand from conversations over at thehighroad that it's quite a handful
