A few photos of a late war commercial Mod. P38 in the collection. Serial number places it roughly in February 1945. The pistol has the typical late war time finish. This example is towards the end of commercial production Mod. P38. 20200313_135128_1584739474387.jpg

Mod .P.38

I have a late Mod p.38, #25755. According to Krutzek, (page 146) there was 12 of these 'produced' after mine, the last one being 25792. However, these statistics are based on 'what is reported' not necessarily what was produced. There are 19 reported/produced between your (25637 and mine. It's possible your gun and mine were built the same day.

The serial number of your Mod. P38 is quite close to the number on my example. There is indeed a probability that both pistols were produced on the same day! Please post a photograph of your example as time allows.
