Just purchased (4/20/19) a new Colt 1911 22LR Rail Gun. Got it home, field striped and cleaned / lubed.
The manual safety is very difficult to dis-engage. With the gun cocked, the gun will engage the safety with a very definitive feel/sound. However, to dis-engage, whole different story, without help, it simply won't disengage. I have to manually push in the detent button below the safety to "help" it disengage.

Anyone else had this issues. Is there a fix for it or do I have to send it in for repair?

Thanks, Merlin

Welcome, I think it’s made at the Umarex/Walther Arms plant in the US.
Call Walther Arms and hear what they say.

New to the thread but my Gold Cup came the same way. I didn't like the OEM safety anyway so I ordered a new one from Brownell's. It took a little fitting and I had to file the front of the safety where the detent goes. Now it works great.

With a lot of work, you can loosen up the safety but it's a pain and I wouldn't want to do it with live rounds.

Here's the one I bought.
