I always clean my guns with gun scrubber. I use hoppes nine solvent and a tooth brush first then clean it all away with gun scrubber. The only gun I had a problem with was the stock on a M-16 it started to melt. Never had any problems on polymer framed handguns.
Cleaning with GunScruber
Is it safe to occasionally clean a P99 with GunScruber or similar cleaners.
