Cleaning with GunScruber

NM_P99,  talking about "Simple Green & hot water", I've been thinking about to mix Simple Green with very hot water in a bucket and submerge the polymer frame into the solution for 20 minutes or so, then proceed with the normal cleaning routine. I hope that to soak the frame for awhile may help to loosen up those hard to reach deposits and dirt. Any particular precaution to take with this method? Any downside at all to use Simple Green? Thanks
