Anybody chrono' their P99s yet? I'm curious, as I'm sure others are, what kind of velocities the P99s achieve. Walther uses a pretty high quality button rifling that produces a different profile than typical land and groove rifling and they have pretty short leads. I'm curious if this has a positive affect on velocity compared to other barrels.

I, for one, would love to see what various types of ammo is generating out of the P99, particularly 9mm. Extended SD barrel?

Thanks BrokenArrow. I knew somebody must have tested 'em.

Curiously, I've bumped into some chrono data elsewhere on the net regarding the P99s and it seems that they have a strong tendency to develop velocities comparable to longer barrel lengths. My suspicion is in the short rifling leads but some dispell that possibility. Regardless, the faster-the-better with shorter barrels. Accurate, too.
