I went to the local Gander Mt. because they have 2 F.E. PPS there.
I had only seen a myriad of pics and threads on the 'net.

I will still wait for the black frame standard model, but I really liked the pistol, in hand, so to speak. Besides, the a-holes at Gander want $750.00 for a F.E.
I won't even pay $665 via Gunbroker or Auction Arms, and that's with my dealer only charging $5.00 for interstate transfers, NCIS checks and the forms.
I believe that is a record high, BTW.

Besides, I placated myself buy buying another pre 68 9mmK PPK. This one's 1968, American Eagle black grips(so no Made in W Germany or Interarms import stamp and logo), MINT condition, replete with matching alligator box, signal pin tool, brass cleaning rod and manual. The numbered test target was missing. All for $700. w/out shipping and transfer. This is my 5th. I gotta go on a diet!

Congratulations, Malysh. Sounds like you are just getting ready for the main course. :) Would love to see some photos, if you have the capability. Many thanks.

Whenever I get around to taking some new pics I will post them here. I got a nice Canon A540 camera last Dec.

I have a '67 dural 22lr, a '67 dural 7.65, a '67 steel 7.65, a '68 Amer Eagle brown gripped 9mmk and the newest '68 black gripped Amer Eagle 9mmk. I replace the American Eagle grips with German brown and black grips, and store the Eagle verisions for posterity. I don't like the Eagle grips but when you replace them you have a legal 68 PPK with no importers stamps or logos, which I really like. I carry the brown Eagle model PPK IWB when I'm too lazy to carry a larger gun. It's about 90% with mininal high edge wear. Since I got the mint black Eagle model at such a great price I decided to enjoy carrying one these expensive guns. Life's short and I'm over 50!

Yea, I called Gander today and was told that $750 price also. I asked the guy what on earth is the reason they are marking this up like $100 over retail and was told that prices come down from headquarters. I was all oh headquarters huh. What a joke they have become here in Texas.
