Hey guys(and gals),
Got my first P99 in 40 cal. in OD green a few weeks ago...love it! , I have around 600 rounds thru it so far and no problems..I was just wondering if any one has ordered a new frame and had the best of both worlds as far as color? I wanted the all blued version originally but my dealer could only track down the OD version, I like the OD, more than I thought I would, but it would be cool to have the option of switching. Is this a do able thing? Thanks to all the info here, I know I made a great choice in weapons..Thanks, Fishbonze

Unlikely to happen. The frame is practically the gun itself in the ATF's eyes so you're buying a second gun in that sense.

Already talk to S&W about this.  They do not offer frames or frame replacements on Walther P99's.  You, by law would have to have the serial numbers matching.  Walther/Smith do not have blank frames for the P99.  They do have blank frames for the SW99 though, go figure.  I emailed Germany regarding frame replacements and have yet to get a responce.  

As is stands now if your frame were to break for some ungodly reason or you just wanted another frame in another color your pretty much out of luck.
