On page 33 of Marschall's book he states, "these caliber .22lr
British pistols were first delievered with a blue finish, but later
they were reworked (sand blasted?) and spray painted with
"suncorite" which was a black matte, oil resistant lacquer
finish."
The fact that mine has a nicely blued trigger, hammer, and
safety makes me think it would look sharp all blued.
If I recall correctly Adams Guns had one on Guns America a
while back, I think it went for $495 but was nicer than mine.
JMT, I'm thinking you may have a rare pistol there. Possibly it
is a late BC PP that they never got around to refinishing.
If I do have it reblued it won't be till this winter, I'm having
too much fun shooting it now.
