There is lots of talk on the internet about modifying mags to work in different guns, HS2000/xd-9 comes to mind, along with using 40 mags designed for the same model. Most agree as long as it doesn't change it's operation in the gun designed for, it's ok.

So, has anyone tried this? Anyone tried p99 40 cal mags?

Catbird, do you have the new catch done by a good smith? Proper placement is critical. It should work.

XD 40cal post mags have been said to fit like 15 or 16 rounds and feed fine inthe XD 9mm guns

Has anyone tried Beretta 40 cal post mags and fed 9mm into them and then put in the P99?

There's a guy on gunbroker that does modifications, says he's tested them in either IDPA of IPSC, can't remember which and he says they work great. He says he makes them out of ASian magazines. Do the asian mags work well, are they good quality generally.
