Rockets,

As promised, here are some photos of the Bar-Sto barrel I modified to solve the "Nose Dive" Jam we spoke about.

It is not easy imaging bright Stainless Steel - but I did the best I could.

Bar-Sto Barrel - Polished

Please be aware that making alterations to any barrel can be dangerous -- a little knowledge can be dangerous and serious injury can result if you undermine the "fully supported" chamber area of a barrel shooting the hot 40 S&W Cartridge.

The polished barrel looks nice, but how long will it stay that way rubbing up against the slide?

Good point about the Slides movement over the barrel BUT--

If you look closely near the back of the barrel you can see two light rings caused by the slides movement, so this barrel has been used quite a bit since its polishing. The great thing about polishing ......... the higher the polish, the more that surface resists friction....so things work easier without as much lubrication.

This barrel really only needs to look good on the part that has the ports....this is the extended section that always is visible beyond the slide.
