Hi I would appreciate any additional info on this Walther TPH. It is both marked Walther as well as Interarms. The date code on the barrel looks like IE, possibly indicating proof year as 1984. Was this gun manufactured in Germany by Walther and imported by Interarms into the US, or was it manufactured by Interarms in the US under license ? Regards Pierre

No 'under license of', and Interarms made no blue TPHs, so it is an import.
But, since it is post '68, it must have been brought in for law enforcement.

The pistol received the German proof test required by law in Germany, as indicated by the corresponding markings:
eagle over N = proof test with nitro powder
IE = 84 = year 1984
antler = proof house in Ulm / Donau
So the pistol was manufactured by Walther in Ulm.

This conclusion may be a bit too simple for I own a TPH that's stamped with eagle over N, date code, and antler, but wasn't manufactured in Germany for sure. ;)

Which markings does this TPH have?

Actually, there are blued TPH models made in the US. Like the stainless steel models they have a steel frame.
Balogh, I'll stand corrected, but I've never seen one. Agree the Ranger ones didn't have alloy frames.
