Howdy, folks.
I am just wondering if any place still has any P99 AS's left. Specifically, the 9mm, and not the P99c. I have one of each, but it is my favorite choice for carry, and I wanted another one. Too late???
As usual, thank you to any responses.
Walther seems to produce/import the P99 (other guns as well) in batches. For instance, the PPQ M2 5" 22 has been unavailable for months. I did a search last night and they're available again.
Hang in there and check every day or so......one day you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Well since it's no longer a matter of competition, you can find a Walther P99 AS in 9MM on gunbroker, I was able to find 2 and went with the $429.99 price tag over the $550 price tag.
Just inspected it today at my FFL and it just needs a little cleaning, will be test firing next week after my waiting period of 8 days is over.
Glad I kept my original gen 1 pistol too, rather just have both gen 1 and 2 as the original does hold a special place in my heart, and I have a "do not buy a gun your going to sell later" philosophy.
Gentleman (and at least one Master/Sensei),
Thank you all for the advice and information. At my request, my favorite local FFL dealer went online the day after I posted this note. And lo and behold, they were available by the dozen on Gunbroker. The thing is, I had checked GunBroker the night I wrote about them. There were NONE. Anywhere. For some unknown reason, there they were. Sorry about extremist with his used gun, I can feel for you.
So now I am patiently waiting for my new one to ship from the deep South.
That is just great! Until next time, y'all.
P.S. Not bragging, but I think I am up to 11 Walthers now. I might be an addict. Hee hee.
The best part about Gunbroker is that a ton of new stuff is added everyday, I checked for a Walther p99 AS 9mm a month ago just randomly and there were none except the .40cal available.
Glad that the topic creator found out as the P99 is still a very popular pistol, cleaned my gen 1 P99 tonight cause it needed some love and it always makes me happy to have a clean well oiled ready to go weapon when I am done.
Good day. I have answered my own question by picking up my brand new P99 yesterday from my local gun shop. This one will stay around, while I plan on using my original one as a carry weapon for a new part-time Court job.
This will be my first official non-Sig Sauer duty pistol, so I will see how it goes.
As usual, thank you to all who participated in this topic.

I went to gun.deals and entered Walther p99 AS 9 mm
and got 11 results varying from 501 to 571.
gun.deals is a good place to look for a particular gun from dealers, not auctions.
Last week on gun.deals I found a Marlin model 1894 in 45 Colt for $499.95 shipped after a coupon code.
I pick it up tomorrow morning.
Bought it to carry, but then decided not to shoot it, so in the clean room, and got a SW99 the next day. Put maybe 15,000rds through it, and only sold it because I was offered cash double what I paid for it. The P99 is #310 of the 2000 Y2Ks. Been tempted to shoot her a few times, but trying to get a sale value for her, before I end up making a carry piece out of her.
Howdy, folks. One more small addition to this story. I shot my "old" P99 officially last week for a job qualification. The bad news is I only shot a 228 score. The good news was it was out of a maximum of 230. That pistol was a blast to shoot, literally and figuratively. I threw one shot into the 3 ring. Oh, well.
But now, thanks to another thread, a P5 seems appropriate for my next one.
Again, thanks to you all.
I have had my carry license since 1996. So, I've had to requalify several times. The last time I had to requalify, I used a P99. I got a perfect score with it. The first time I managed a perfect score. Since then, they changed the law, and I no longer have to re-qualify.
