You can buy two new P99's of any flavor for the cost of one P88. Maybe not from Earl mind you.

Another P5 is next on the list for me.

I haven't gotten one yet but I want one,I always have my eyes out for a P88 or P88C, now that I have the P5, P5C and HK P7 I want to round out the collection of expensive (overpriced??) all metal handguns.

I picked one up last year on GunBroker. Brand new. It sure wasn't cheap. I also added to the cost by shipping it out to Tripp to have the slide hard chromed. I also sent it to Teddy Jacobson for realiability and tuning. Needless to say I will hold on to this one. I bought one about 10 years ago for $600.00 and sold it five years ago to invest in a 1911. I regretted that move and kept my eyes open for another one. I also have an H&K P7M13 and a Walther P5c. I gave my brother a Walther P5 since I had the compact myself. I remember reading a few articles years ago in the gun rags when high capacity nines were all the rage. More than one writer called the Walther P88 the finest combat nine ever. I didn't know at the time what one even looked like. You may even get a few arguments about the finest combat nine from a few folks. Not me though. The H&K P7 is close. Great gun and I won't be getting rid of this one anytime soon. Eddie
