We are collectively seeing or hearing of a trickle of stainless PPK/s in the wild. What is the scuttlebutt regarding the "blued" or more probably "blacked" version of the PPK/s????

Is any more information available as far as timelines? Is Walther still showing off "blacked" models at tradeshows and such???

Early reports suggest it's the same stainless steel, but with a nitride treatment, much like the M&Ps and other modern offerings. I can't give you an answer unfortunately, but I'm most interested in a "blued" PPK (not /s).

I’ve heard, FWIW, they are producing the stainless first, then switching to black production, before finally finishing with a run of PPK’s.
I’ve heard...

Thanks guys. I'd like to at least see a blackened one before deciding on stainless or blackened stainless.

Sounds like it may be a while yet though.

I think so too. I was all fired up at first to get one but now have kind of taken a “wait & see” approach in that I have several Walthers to tide me over. And with the apparent going rate of almost $700 I don’t mind waiting for a bit of a price drop.
Like you I was a little ambivalent toward the nickel version but since have purchased a shiny PPK/S in .22 cal. She is very pretty.
