Hey everyone,

I wanted to know what kind of ammo do you all use for practice with your p99's and where is a good place to get them. While I have your attention might as well ask what you might have to use after the range (for defense)?

For range use I typically use Winchester white box ammo. 100 rounds for $10 at Wal Mart. For defense, I use 147 grain Federal Hydra Shoks.

I have also read that CorBon (115gr/JHP) makes a defense load that is similar to the HydraShok, is there any real difference between the two?

I'd say that shot placement has orders of magnitude more effect than the difference between brands (or even calibers ).  

I understand looking for all the advantages you can, but I think the few percent of difference in "stopping power" are dwarfed by the difference in hitting center of mass vs hitting an elbow.

Some people are more effective with a .22 than others with a .50.
