Thanks for the reply PanteraMike. I can say I was underwhelmed by the SA XDE as well. I got a chance to try one and while it worked, it's just not a gun I'd look forward to owning. It felt cobbled together by some disgruntled elves on a sugar rush.I was asking for my own edification, but as a practical matter I already decided on a Kimber Micro 9, due to my long-standing love of the 1911 platform. The Ulm ‘66 PPK I bought is simply too nice for carrying, and instead is a range toy. Sadly the trigger pull on the Kimber is almost abysmal, certainly compared to the SA trigger on my PPK which is sublime.
If somebody made a lightweight non-plastic recoil-operated 9mm gun with PPK size and aesthetics and non-striker trigger mechanism, that would really be something.
Enjoy that Kimber. It's a classy option.
