I know the full size 18 round mags are compatible with the PDP compact. I also remember Walther recommending to put a sleeve on them so they are not inserted to far into the gun damaging the receiver. I have looked on Walther's website and can't find them to buy. Does anyone know where to find them? I searched for magazine sleeves so perhaps that is not the proper term.

As a new guy here (but not to pistols), help me understand something about the PDP full size 18 rd mags in a compact PDP/PDP-F. After reading here a bit to try and "catch up" (still working on this) it seems that:
  • the 18 rd mags a while back seemed to have feeding issues (weak spring?). red vs. blue follower etc - seems it is now solved(?)
  • you need a base plate spacer (like null) which adds $15 to the cost of the 18 rd mag (to safely use in a compact) - cost now close to $55
  • there are 17 rd walther mags designed to work (and fit) in compacts (come with extended walther base plate) - that cost under $40

So, other than going for 17 to 18 rds, what's the attraction of the 18 rd mag (am I missing something)? And I get the "because I can", and "it's 1 more round" etc thinking. Just curious

In my case I have a full size PDP with 18 round mags. Getting some version of the PDP compact is tempting because of the promotion Walther is running with a free red dot. I like the idea of being able to use the full size mags in the compact. If I had 17 round mags I would be perfectly fine with them.
