Walther K43 opinions

Got a good deal on this one,bad auction pics and sold as is no returns.Took a chance, won it for 1700.00 without scope and mount.I had the scope and mount, traded for it years ago,I think it matches the rifle pretty well. When I got the rifle was very happy, stock does not look sanded and all parts match, sometimes you win sometimes you lose.Opinions appreciated, can post some better pics getting dark and cloudy here.Had to use a flash to show the color.

Did you have a chance to inspect this gun before plunking down $1700 with no return?

Thanks BoneDaddy, the scope and mount weren't much good without a rifle under them!

I just won a G43 at auction pretty much the same as you I don't have it yet and I am hoping it is a good one it is always hit and miss with the auctions! I am trying to find a scope mount that is original but no luck yet. I have a scope and I really don't want an original scope on a repop mount....

Arrow

Depends on what you're going to do with the rifle - hang it on the wall as a part of your collection OR shoot it.
If the first then you want an original mount, but if the latter then what is wrong with a repro mount???
I have hunted with a G or K 43 for the past 60 yrs. Originally with an original scope and mount. However as I found repro mts available I put my original on a rifle in the collection, never to be shot again. I did the same thing with the scope, original till I found a post war scope and then the original went into the collection.
I have killed a deer and antelope almost every year I have hunted for the past 60 yrs with a mismatched rifle and while only once have I needed the scope it still goes hunting with me.
I see No logik to dragging an original, expensive scope/mount around to shoot with when a look a like original is readily available.
