A number of German state police special response units did purchase the rifles for service.

Maybe we can do a "group buy" and pass it around, a week at a time, for some test-drives?

Seems like such a "light" rifle for a belted mag cartridge.

As for Thumper's comment: functional piece of artwork... he may have a point with a few tweeks.

I could be wrong, but I was always taught that a piece of "art" should have NO other function but that of itself. To be there. No practical use.

I think its one of Walther's "gimmick" pieces. In .308 I really can see it coming into SOME SPARING USE... Maybe...

But as a standard sniper rifle, it looks too mechanical and technological to be in the field. Especially with such a round as .300 Win Mag

I don't think it would be manageable. As it would jump all over the place after every trigger pull.

But you also make another fantastic point... Need vs. Want... Want one, most definitely, but need...... not so much. I have no use for it, either. I can't legally use it to hunt whitetails in PA with the action, nor most other game here. I could use it to plug varmints in the field behind my house if I really felt like feeding such a beast.

Anyone know where you can get that conversion kit for the Ruger 10/22 to make it look like the WA2000???

Would love to get my hands on something like that.

PM with leads.

Thanks.

Why not go whole hog and turn your 10/22 into a Gatling gun?

GATLING GUN KIT CNC MACHINED ALUMINUM FOR RUGER® 10/22® RIFLES

Or, for the same price, how about a Thompson submachine gun, just like a Chicago 1920s gangster?

RUGER® 10/22® "CHICAGO" CONVERSION KIT - Brownells

Ruger 10/22 Thompson Submachine Gun Conversion Kit

And if neither of those two trip your trigger, you might be able to find your cup of Ruger tea here -- lots and lots of ways to go:

Heier's Custom Ruger 10/22s

I have seen the conversion kits for the Tommy Gun and the machine gun. I just love the lines and looks of the WA2000, and wouldn't mind getting my hands on a conversion kit like that.

Any leads??
