Walther PPKS 22LR made in France

High polish Walther with box extra mag and paper work.INTERARMS on slide, beautiful little pistol.Picked it up at local gunshop for 350.00,dont think they knew what it was as seemed a cheap price.

I hope you bought that. If not you need to run, FAST, down to that gun shop and give him the $350 and another $50 for the privilege of buying it for $350.

Beautiful example!

I'm afraid not. I know nothing of the history of Manhurin or when Interarms imported them. Only that Walther ended their financial relationship with Manhurin in '85.

Oh, you did very well. No argument about that.

You may get charged with 'Grand Theft Pistole'. I'd get out of state as fast as ever you can!
Nice catch and enjoy; they are sweethearts to shoot. I had one in '71, and traded it in '72. Been kicking myself ever since, and did find a replacement.

Thanks Moon!Yeah the ppk 22lr is being mass produced over here by Smith and Wesson today, they have a matt black finish and the quality is nothing like the fit and finish on these"old school"pistols. But labor and materials are not as cheap as they once were, not running the new ones down, they are affordable and probably work fine, although I have never shot one.

Close is always a relative term. Yours was manufactured around 1980.

Smith & Wesson never manufactured a .22lr version of the PPK or PPK/S and Interarms/Ranger did neither. The only .22lr gun made in America to carry Walther's name was the TPH model. So you are probably confusing it with the PPK/S .22 made by Walther Germany in 2013 and since last year again. This non-steel gun is available in black and silver. I wouldn't be too surprised if Walther Arms USA wanted to start a local manufacture sooner or later.
