Sure would like to see ol' Luke saddle up and give us a big howdy here, along with some steady attention.

Welcome!

@Herr Walther, When it comes to the beavertail extension, I think that they should remove it from the PPK, but leave it on the PPK/S.
The "S" in PPK/S stands for "Sport" which means the PPK/S is marketed as a range gun, which the extension makes sense for and the PPK/S is more suited towards those with bigger hands with its longer grip, as is the beavertail extension, whereas the PPK is meant as a concealed carry which the beqvertail extension sort of works against.

The /S actually stands for "Special". The interpretation of "Sport" can be read frequently, but Walther calls the PPK/S a special version originally made for the U.S. market.

Where did you learn that bit of mis-information?

See Balogh's post.

@Herr Walther, Right on Walther Arms website...

PPK/S .22 - Walther Arms

Quote:
PPK/S Frame
* The "Sport" version with longer grip
Also multiple reviews state that the S is for Sport.

We seem to be deviating from the intended message of this thread, folks. Let's keep this focused on the arrival of Walther's new veep of marketing. If someone wants to start a new thread in the PP/TP section on the meaning of the S in PPK/S, have at it. Thanks.

Still waiting for Luke to drop in and say hello. They must require a lot of paperwork at the Walther plant before they turn folks loose these days.
