Numbers on front sights?

My PPX fires around 10cm too high 25m out. Let others shoot it, all shots ended up being too high. That's why the number on the front sight (4 in my case) caught my attention. What does it indicate? Gun is sighted in for 40m? 40yrds?

Corasponds to the hight of the sight. Not sure on the mesurements but its like 1 is the shortest then 2 is a little taller and so on.

Walther offers PPX front sights in three different heights, No. 3, 3.5mm - No. 4, 3.8mm, which is also the default installed at the factory, and No. 5, 4.1mm.

searcher451 and Milspec like this.

if you want to change the sight you can ether go stock or use a ppq sight. i got my fiber front from dawsons precision.

.150 tall is the #4
.160 tall is the #5

taller front would aim lower.

Still too high at 25m out with the #4. Can it be the factory sights are set up for 6 o' clock hold? I doubt that.
