Walther PPX Range report

Just got back from the range and all I can say is I'm in love with this gun!!! Over 100 rounds put through the gun and not one single malfunction. Trigger is amazing and is just as good as the PPQ. PPQ feels better in the hand to me, but I prefer the PPX's sights more. I think Walther has a real winner here,

Highly Recommended!! Especially for the 429 I paid for it.

Heres some pics. Target is my dads grouping at 7 yards(16 rounds). He absolutely loved the gun and thinks once the word gets out its gonna be hard to find. He actually shot it better than the $1200 1911 in the pic.

Nice range report with picture!

Glad you are loving it.

I hope the stainless steel finish slide model shows up pretty soon also.

Thanks for "butterin' the biscuit" for us, Slacker!!

Question: is your Pa by any chance an ol' DA revolver shooter? If so, maybe that's why he shot the PPX so well.

Though the trigger is DAO. It is extremely light and is on par with the PPQ. I think most people are expecting it to be like some 9 pound trigger pull, but it literally breaks like a 1911.

I find the trigger on the PPX to be somewhat of a mystery. It is really good on the one I tried and nothing like I expected when I first read that it was a hammer fired pistol. It is not a traditional hammer fired pistol in that their is no external hammer moving back as you pull the trigger with that hammer also a way to tell if the trigger is being moved by detecting the movement of the hammer. Makes me wonder why the PPX is not another striker fired pistol unless there is some cost savings involved.

How would you describe the pull weight and trigger action? I would imagine reset is on the long side due to double action only? How much takeup on trigger pull?

As far as measurements I have no clue. I will say that the PPX trigger has some take up and when you get to that so called "wall" it breaks so cleanly. Trigger weight feels like nothing to be honest. A lot of that comes from it being partially precocked. Reset is long, but is nowhere near the the length of something like the LC9 or PF9. You won't be disappointed if you buy the gun.
