Recoil Guide Rod

New member to the forum. I just purchased a PPS M2 and noticed that the recoil guide rod doesn't seem to be putting much tension on the barrel when I put it back in place. The guide rod just seems like it drops into place. Is this normal?

Mine is the same. The recoil spring compresses between the slide and the frame. I believe that notch in the barrel is just to get it assembled.

Must be normal for the pistol.
Mine is the same. Most of my other guns need a slight compression to seat the guide rod.

Thanks for the replies. I'll be shooting it tomorrow so if it feels normal then that's I can live with that.
