Sorry for my lack of specificity OF. I'm working on a factory, press fit, metal, tritium rear sight (the "TNS" set) on a PPQ M2. No screws, no visible pins. There is a tiny hole in the top of each shoulder; if there are pins in there, wondering how to deal with them...
I have photos in Imgur, but I still can't figure out how to attach them. |

Ah. Nevermind. They are factory installed, but I finally learned to read, they're XS F8 sights, tiny set screws in those holes, XS supplies a wrench with the sights but Walther does not...just have to find a micro size allen wrench or wait for XS to get back from NRAAM

XS F8 sights are by no means factory night sights. They are after market...fart has the right of it. Take your slide to Ace Hardware and spend a dollar on an allen wrench that fits your sight.

Yes OS, the sights are from an aftermarket manufacturer, I came to realize that after re-reading the catalog entry. But they are sold factory installed on the guns direct from Walther USA, Stock #27960666TNS.
That would have been easy wouldn't it; I've even been known to buy whole sets to get a wrench I need. But the local hardware stores, at least the ones I went to (with slide in hand) in my area, and the ones I've called +/-20 miles out, only stock down to 1.5mm. I know that it takes smaller than 1.3mm, bcz I have precision wrenches, and the 1.3mm just fits in the hole, but the tips are too short to reach the screw. The electronics parts outlet near me also only has the short precision versions in smaller than 1.5mm. Walther CS doesn't know the size, bcz "they've not had one in for service", and they "don't service the night sights anyway" - which I though a strange comment since the product has a sku. I left message with XS, but they're closed until Monday (out having fun at NRAAM). And I have also asked another forum member to hit up XS at the NRAAM if he has a chance. But thanks for the suggestions. |
