A guy came in my LGS with 10 boxes of CCI Standard and offered it to them for $12 a box. We just laugh and said no thank you. We can buy it $6.49 a box. A lady, actually, standing there listening bought all ten boxes for a $120.

So be careful and aware me bucko's, there are scalpers in dem woods.

I bought two 1000 round boxes at wal-mart last week for 50.87 a piece. That brings my grand total to just under 4000 rounds. Don't mean to hoard but I couldn't find any in forever and the stuff I had beforehand was purchased from a friend that didn't want to sell. He caved cause I didn't have any and just bought a PPK/S in 22.

Well I finally found some .22 ammo down on the Delaware boarder. Bulk Federal HV (2 boxes) $.06 a round and a couple of CCI mini mags at $.08 a piece. Fare prices at this point. Wish I could have got more as that's only a couple of range trips worth. Beggers can't be choosers, so I'm happy to be able to shoot my PPK/s again.

I've got a bit stashed away, but have hesitated to shoot up what I've got, especially since it seems easier to replace centerfire calibers simply by reloading, tho' it surely is more expensive.
We weren't able to shoot down at camp the last two summers due to construction work nearby; this year, I should be able to resume blasting off the porch, and I'm simply going to do it. The ammo serves no purpose sitting in my ammo cabinet.

The real good stuff (CCI mini mags and some Rem Golden) I am saving for a rainy day. The federal, Rem thunderbolt, and etc. I will shoot it up first. If I think about it; I'll stop by and pick up a hundred rds at a time, the CCI I put aside.

I am looking forward to comparing the PPK/S and PP in .22 with the new PPQ .22. When my LGS gets it in. I will probably go through a couple hundred rds apiece. I am also saving some for that day.

I picked up another brick, today at my LGS for $30, that is $6 per hundred. They had about 12 bricks left. They are now getting about 40-50 bricks a week. I will try to pick up a brick a week. They also had a ton of .45.

This brick was the American Eagle for suppressors. I have never used any of this brand in .22.

What you never know in advance is if a brand you haven't used will run in an autoloader. That alone would have kept me away from the standard velocity CCI; it's great target ammo, but I'm doubtful it will cycle an autoloader.

The CCI standard cycle fine, in both the PP and the new PPK/S. However, not for $12 a hundred.

A family member stumbled into a case (5,250 rounds) of Federal 1240fps hollow points and picked them up for me. $.05 a round, so I will live with the results. Looks like I'm shooting .22's again!

It'd be nice to stumble onto a case but I don't think I could afford to buy it. Maybe half of it...
