Help Identifying My Walther Model PP

I recently purchased this Walther PP and I have checked the serial number, etc., but I would like more information from the experts out there. Thanks.

Welcome Ontogeny.

Your PP is a German police surplus (Hesse) and was made in 1972.

Quite unusual in that the police property mark was not defaced when it was traded in for P7s. Most were Xd out.

My model PP looks almost exactly like the Hesse photos posted in this thread except that mine state Heckler & Koch Arlington, VA on the barrel and the other does not even though the serial numbers are close. Thanks all.

The OP in the thread I posted is from Canada where importer stamps aren't required.

Your PP is from the state of Hesse. The F indicates the PP is from the independent city of Frankfurt Am Main. FD would indicate the PP came from Fulda. The state of Hesse is divided into 21 districts and 5 independent cities. Hope this helps.

Here's a picture of my 1964 PP from the Marburg- Biedenkopf (MR) district in the State of Hesse. It also was not X ed. Out. The magazine is also serial numbered to the gun.
