#3/4 transitionnal model

I bought a Model 3/4 also called a Transitional model yesterday but do not actually have the gun yet so no pics. It is basically a #3 slide on a #4 frame. Exactly the same as the one in Rankin's book, page 37.

Any idea of how many were made? The #3 is pretty hard to find and expensive, the #4 generally available. It looks like Walther had some left over #3 slides and decided to use them. Any help on quantity or value appreciated.
