I have a PPK/S that is roll marked "Walther USA LLC Springfield MA".
Was this a left over Interarms gun that was assembled by S&W or is this one of the first S&W made guns???
It shoots really well and the fit and finish are excellent!!
I belive its from the change over time . So most likely Interarms parts and S&W assembly. Might be worth something down road as a collector. But I don t know to much, just ask my teenage children or my wife. If it shoots good and you like it be happy If Smith had there hands on it and it works be very happy.
It does look like it's from Interarms leftover stock when they went belly up. The looks of the grip tang is rather short so I doubt if S&W made it, they were probably just the distributor.
I agree it's a leftover Interarms, the last of the guns that look like a "real" Walther. I've also never seen a blue S&W so far, only stainless. I've got one of the last Interarms PPK in stainless but it's still marked with the Interarms logo and was made in late 1998.
It must be one of the good ones, because, I have not had any trouble with it.
I'm planning to launch 200 rounds through it this weekend!!
