That deep, beautiful blue that was a characteristic of even workaday guns in the past just isn't done anymore, unless it's by Turnbull or one of the other custom shops.

It's not especially durable, and the polishing requires time/skills that are no longer common.

Jimbo80, if the Fort Smith Walther PPK's and PPKS's are not selling, why have some online stores increased their prices? Some online stores are asking for $799.00 now. Since they went up that much, there must be people willing to pay that price.

Can you explain what is taking place?

All I can explain is what is happening in my store in Florida. We have had them in stock for quite some time and they have been decidedly slow sellers in the mid to low 600s. It's a buyers market now. I think it's pretty tough for the newest copy to sell when there are so many ZM, Ulm, and IA guns available for the same price or less. Remember the S&W version was not a big seller either. The current market is all about light, small, and hi cap guns.

J,

My LGS is of a similar mindset to your business; rather enthusiastic about the 365 (the SAS and XL versions and Hellcat werenít out then) and overtly contemptuous of the PPK/S (pointing out the DA as a flaw and the lack of slide release).

IMO thereís clearly enough inherent demand to more than absorb the supply, with local ebbs and surges. FL is where Iíd want the least substantive CCW choice, so no surprise I guess. Up here itís kinda cold and you could CCW anything short of a rifle. If you havenít moved yours, thatís probably why.
