Another recent (5 days old) review:

Very much mirrors my experience to date.

The article's pretty badly researched or probably inspired by other shallow reviews. Already after the first two paragraphs no less than four inconsistencies are noticeable. We can also speak bluntly of mistakes of course.

I get weary of reading about 007 in nearly every review of these pistols.

No kidding.

On an unrelated note, most of the issues with mine have been worked out by figuring out which ammo it likes and a bit of break in on the magazines (leaving them loaded a couple weeks). With the right ammo, mine is reasonably reliable. It is picky with ammo though, can't throw just anything in it. Prime example: 100Gr Remington Golden Sabers run flawlessly, 95 Gr Winchester flat nose run perfect too but 100Gr Sig Sauer flat nose need a rubber mallet to get into battery.

I've got two Interarms .380s (one a PPK, one an /S) and they shoot flawlessly and are more accurate than my 68 PPK in 7.65, which is also pretty damned accurate at 15 yards. Maybe they make a bigger hole in the target and seem more accurate, but I wouldn't feel unarmed with any of these firearms and wouldn't consign any to the role of a range gun.

I don't think the round is too much overpowered for the PP series of pistols. John Moses Browning had FN chamber in their 1910 model, which I would argue is more fragile than the PP models. Doesn't seem to overpower them. (Got one in .32, a sweetheart. With almost no sights, it's definitely not a range gun.)

The chief complaint comes from those who find the recoil "snappy." I suspect those people spend too much time behind a keyboard and develop dishwater hands. I wouldn't want to put 100 rounds through one at one session, but compared to an airweight J-frame S&W, a .380 is a joy to shoot. And I'm a recoil-sensitive wimp.

BUT.....for some reason when I carry a PPK, it's the .32. Maybe the brown grips do something for me.

Anyone heard anything about the new PPK's in black? I still have not received any notifications from any online retailers about them being available. Weird, that Walther has been making them one model at a time.

Finally handled a new production piece at a local gunshow...wood grips, stainless.
It was handsome and well fitted.
